To those of you who bravely stepped forward and withstood the scorching spotlight of a natal chart interpretation at my hands, you'll see that I value fairness above all. :) So below, under the cut, is a study of my own astrological essence, written as much as possible from the perspective of an outside observer relying solely on astrological evidence. It's me--warts and all.

For those of you who haven't had one done, here's a sample of just what I do with about twenty hours of blood, sweat, and tears. :) :D

A Witch's Stars: The Astrological Essence of Rachel Melcher

Dear Rachel,

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to study and comment upon your natal chart. It has been an honor. I came to astrology, reluctantly, through newspaper horoscopes. I hated the idea that there were only twelve kinds of people in the world and yet couldn't help but feel some sense of identifying with "my sign". True astrology, though, is so much more complex and interesting! So complex, in fact, that the geometry and details of someone's natal chart will not be duplicated for 25,000 years! You are essentially one-of-a-kind and the gifts from the Universe at your birth, your Witch's Stars, are not the same as anyone else's. You are uniquely suited to fill a need in the world, endowed with your own super-powers and set upon the path of your own spiritual evolution. Everything you started this life with is reflected in your natal chart and now the question is--what will you do with it? :)

I don't know how much exposure you've had to the study of astrology or even the contents of your natal chart. For future research purposes, the one I consulted is in an attached file. If you're interested, you can take up the study of astrology yourself or ask someone else for a second reading. :) Mine is just one opinion, one way of interpreting the findings.

I've found that most natal chart interpretations read a bit like fifty-two card pickup. Each planet, each aspect, each house is noted and explained in a little fact nugget without any sort of broader brush strokes to make sense of it. I've developed a different format based on the pentacle where I will talk about themes and then the planetary influences that I got those impressions from. To leave the narrative as undisturbed as possible, I'm choosing to use parenthetical documentation to note, where I can (and can remember to), specific configurations that led to my assumptions. If you find yourself particularly interested in one area or another, you can research that aspect that I cited in more depth. Otherwise, you can skip over anything in parentheses as a footnote. I'm also using email, though it is less pretty, to remove any potential file-sharing or other technical issues. I'd rather spend my time on the content than the format and hope you won't find that clutter and ramble too distracting. Finally, this reading encompasses your chart from birth. Some of these challenges you may have already mastered pretty well while others may crop up in your future, so keep that in mind. Reading this now, some points will jump out to you. Reading this ten years from now, others will feel more immediately relevant. That's okay--a life's a long time to explore the complexities of your personality and power and path. :)

I'd love any feedback you may have and any questions that this might leave you with unanswered. I want, more than anything, for this to be useful to you. :)

Your Birth Pentacle

SPIRIT, I AM

I believe that we are each made of divine, immortal essence and that this essence can be viewed or interpreted in any number of ways. For my astrological charting and through the lens of my religious beliefs, I've arbitrarily divided those SPIRIT energies into your INNER GOD, INNER GODDESS, INNER CHILD, and TRAVELING SOUL. They represent the disparate parts of you that sometimes don't necessarily mesh and other times make perfect companions for each other. They are all, without a doubt, you. They are also all, in varying ways, working to protect and care for you and support your growth in this life. These are the spiritual forces at work within you, from birth.

INNER GOD:
Your Inner God shines as the Sun in Libra. Anyone who needs a voice of reason, a diplomat, or someone to bounce ideas off of can find him holding court in his white-marbled home on the hill. The windows are open, the furnishings are luxurious, and the atmosphere one of absolute peace and tranquility. Storms do not rage long within his domain. He is calm, thoughtful, and able to see most anyone's side in a story. He says, "I see why you are so upset. Let's talk." and somehow the emotional waters calm, the scales balance, and things improve for everyone. He is a peerless host, constantly anticipating and providing for the comfort of others in any situation. He hates nothing more than to be considered rude, loud or ugly and so his behavior is quite always ordered and kind and polite (Sun in Libra).

He's a young god, though, and not entirely comfortable within his power. He can get so wrapped up in his need to be likable and fair and socially pleasant that he doesn't know how to take a stand for what's important to him as an individual or to strive for personal recognition and accomplishment. It feels 'selfish' and that, to him, is one of the ugliest words of all (Sun in Libra; Sun square MC). He was raised in a home where his father provided for all his needs and even now he continues to put himself under the control of men who provide for his material needs (Sun conjunct Pluto; Sun semisquare Saturn). At times, he can act unpredictably--he chafes a bit under his role and needs a break, freedom, the knowledge that he is free to act as an individual no matter how much he is wired to think in collective terms (Mars conjunct Uranus; Sun in Libra). He's got a lot to give in a relationship and wants, in return, a partner who will handle the jobs he doesn't want to have to do. Once he matures and becomes more confident of what he has to offer, he'll take on more responsibilities and no longer feel that need for some man, any man, to protect and provide for him (Sun in Libra). The relationships and the sense of communal effort will still be there, but he won't feel as unequal to them--he'll discover that his worth is as great as the worth he sees shining in everyone else (Sun in Libra).

There is being fair to others and there is being fair to oneself. Once this Inner God, this Master of Balance, learns to give equal regard to his own needs and ambitions and once he finds meaningful work to do in the world with his powers of communication and calm, he will be a force to be reckoned with, truly unstoppable in his drive to achieve (Sun in Libra;Mars semisextile Pluto; Mars in Scorpio).

INNER GODDESS:
Your Inner Goddess is embodied by the Moon in Taurus. Everyone's Inner God and Inner Goddess are fated, through your birth, to spend this lifetime living together. For some people, it is a perfect union of complementary characteristics and in others, it is an uneasy match of opposites battling within your Spirit. For you, the pair can be quite different and yet they do share some common goals that keep the ship steered in the same direction. Your Inner Goddess is the fierce bull. She stands her ground, protects those that she considers hers, and cannot be forced to go against her beliefs (Moon in Taurus). She doesn't want life to ever change, she loves so absolutely, that she wants to hold on to each second and will time, if she can, to stand forever frozen in these perfect moments. She creates the haven, the sanctuary, the safe home in which she houses her family. She very rarely expresses the full depth of her emotions and yet, her every action expresses them. If there was an earthquake and the walls of this home were crumbling, she'd be outside trying to hold them together with her bare hands, to preserve what she's made and to try and protect those she houses inside from the inevitable (Moon in Taurus; Venus in Scorpio). She clings to tradition, to security, to weighty material possessions as a way of trying to root herself to the moment. She will have to learn, though it may break her heart, how to adapt to and survive change, loss, and separation from her loved ones (Moon in Taurus). While she may be immortal, she is still subject to the cyclical fate and constant change of the Wheel of Fortune.

Your Inner Goddess is much more complex, more human than just the qualities of the Moon in Taurus suggest. She can be difficult to deal with in a relationship. Her needs are mercurial, she can rebel for rebellion's sake, and is emotionally manipulative at times. She refuses to fit herself into any traditional box. She fights, needlessly, to ensure that she's nobody's slave in a relationship. She'd rather abandon a relationship, for example, then put up with someone telling her that she had to do the dishes. She decides for herself what she will and won't do and like a bull there is no forcing her to do otherwise (Moon in Taurus; Moon opposition Venus; Moon opposition Mars; Moon opposition Uranus; Venus in Scorpio).

And yet, she, like your Inner God, has an emotional need to be of service (Moon trine North Node). She rarely flies off and hurts someone because she does understand the potential emotional harm she can cause and does her best, to a point, to please others. She at times will ignore her own needs in order to be more like her Libra mate (Venus conjunct Mars; Venus semisextile Sun). She can't help this inner battle she has between wanting to be taken care of and wanting, equally, to be everything to someone else (Moon quincunx Sun). She's just so damned intense! She's all or nothing, guarded ice or melded to your soul. She loves, fiercely, and everything else is an expression of that single-minded focus (Venus in Scorpio; Moon in Taurus; Full Moon).

INNER CHILD:
Your Inner Child is an interesting mix of both of her divine parents. She remains perpetually in childhood and so it is never too late to begin understanding and meeting her needs. Like her father, she is naturally fair-minded, logical, and kind (Sun in Libra). She needs to exist in a serene, secure environment with lots of hugs and blankets, adequate food, and a sense of deep-rooted stability (Sun in Libra; Moon in Taurus). She's an unusually intense child--insightful, even psychic, and prone to emotional swings (Mercury in Scorpio; Mars in Scorpio). She doesn't do casual relationships or superficial friendships. Those few she befriends she transforms and is transformed by and theirs is a relationship of profound trust and depth(Venus in Scorpio). She's slow to anger, this Child, but once she does she is cold and merciless (Mars in Scorpio).

TRAVELING SOUL:
The Traveling Soul, as I see it, is the immortal, constant energy that experiences life after life, is poured into body after body, taking on new challenges and evolving towards a reconnection with the Source. It often looks like the essence, the still awareness at your core. It is the quiet voice of your truest needs. It exists largely outside of the divine Inner Family dynamic, since it exists beyond this life and each life will see it housed with different Inner Gods, Inner Goddesses, and Inner Children in order for growth potential to occur.

Your Traveling Soul is naturally a loner, a march-to-its-own-drummer type who values freedom above all else. It travels largely alone, investigating and thinking about everything, and being transformed through the experience(Aquarius on the 4th; Uranus in Scorpio). This path of independent self-discovery has been empowering and vital to its evolution, but in this lifetime, it is time for the Traveling Soul to slow down and allow others to catch up and connect (Aquarius on 4th). It is time to balance the fiercely independent drive of your Traveling Soul with the collective needs of the community for the unique insights and contributions it can provide (North Node in Virgo; Chiron in 7th; Aquarius on 4th; North Node in 11th House).

In past lives, this Traveling Soul mastered the skills of Pisces. It projects and is completely at home with its dreamy, emotional, sensitive, and compassionate nature. That's old hat and yesterday's lessons learned. Now it is time to focus and channel that watery energy through careful logical thought and concrete action into a spiritual life of community service (North Node in Virgo; South Node in Pisces; North Node in 11th House). It is time to break free of the daydreams and the independent, carefree roaming and to actually do something. It's like that moment in the movie Top Gun where the fighter pilot is having some weird emotional moment in the middle of a dogfight and his buddy is getting shot at and he's just sitting there emotionally losing it and crying over a picture of his dead best friend. There's pleading over the radio from the guy who needs help, lots of pleading, and finally someone in charge says something like, "God damn it, Maverick! Engage! Engage! Engage!". It is time, your lifetime, to stop with the emotional wibbling, to stop being the fiercely alone maverick, and to ENGAGE. Get in there! Pilot that little physical body around and do something with it. The world needs you--you can't help but hear the calls with your empathy--so now take action, band together with others, and get to work! This will not only make the world the proverbial "better place" but will also give your Traveling Soul emotional healing and a sense of wholeness. This 'maverick' of yours is plagued with self-doubt and nothing could heal that lifetimes old wound better than community, love, and a sense of purpose, of place, and worth within the collective (Chiron in Taurus; Chiron in 7th House).

In the meantime, take care of your Traveling Soul. It can be overwhelming to be poured into a physical body and subjected to the daily grind of life. Your Traveling Soul would appreciate a home that reflects its individuality, is powered up with the latest technological toys, and provides the retreat and peace of absolute privacy (Aquarius on 4th House).

~*~
So that's your Spiritual makeup. Let's go look at the rest of the elements and how their essence was distributed within you at birth!

I love to look at the elemental distribution within someone's natal chart. It is the first thing I do and I almost giggle my way through the process. It is the speediest way to get a handle on who they are, what their basic challenges might be, and where their exceptional abilities lie. I'm going to assume, given your age, that you've played or been exposed to something like Dungeons & Dragons or an online adventure quest game. I believe, wholeheartedly, that our Traveling Souls choose the moment of our birth in order to harness what they need for their own spiritual growth. I believe that they sorta sit down and create a character, much as you'd do in gaming. There are a set number of skill points to allocate. The Sun and the Moon really throw their weight around a chart and so they each count for two points. Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto each count for one point. That's it! These twelve skill points are distributed, at the moment of birth, into the elements in which they are found in the sky. You have the rest of your life to work on building up ability in weak areas, but you're stuck with whatever you have to start with. Some people have a very balanced distribution of Water, Air, Earth, and Fire. They're the jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none. Some people have extraordinary imbalances! They have concentrated their skill points into one super-powered category and the rest may be almost cripplingly weak. Like, sure Superman--you can fly but you fall over in a faint at the sight of this here green rock. It's all a choice--and in the end your job is to go from here towards balance. Any element you have a lot of natural ability with must be balanced, eventually, by developing learned abilities in the elements you aren't naturally adept at handling. If you're balanced at birth, then you need to work a little bit on all the elements to really grow into your whole power.

So, if you'll excuse my nerdy Create Your Character analogy a little further, here's what you picked for yourself when you created the character of Rachel Melcher:
Strength Earth: 3 points
Intelligence Air: 3 points
Charisma/Energy Fire: 2 points
Magic Water: 4 points

At first glance, pretty balanced. A trade-off between having a little more ooomph when it comes to emotions and psychic insights and a little less creative, passionate energy. No obviously compelling stories or superpowers at this level, so let's look more deeply at each element and how each, in a fairly balanced way, shapes who you are.

FIRE, I AM

At the moment of your birth, Jupiter and Neptune were in fire signs. In addition, your Midheaven, or the constellation of stars directly overhead at the moment of your birth was also a fire sign. Additionally, four planets are in your 1st House, a traditionally fiery house of self-identity. They might not be fiery personality traits, but you know who you are with the certainty of flame. While you may not be a dynamo of Fire, there's still quite a story about it to be told in your chart.

You aren't fiery, necessarily, but you are creative. Your creativity takes a watery form--you are most psychically sensitive and compassionately aware when you're pursuing some form of creative self-expression. It is how you plug into a lot of that (Pisces on the 5th). You're also all-fired-up about learning everything you can about religion, life, and humanity (Gemini on the 9th). You never tire learning or talking about those topics!

You were born with a public charisma and natural leadership ability. You maintain a sterling reputation for your strong moral character and have a fiery, contagious vision of how the world could aspire to be (Jupiter in 10th). You are visibly generous, deeply philosophical, and unshakably optimistic (Jupiter in Leo). You are captivated by the spiritual and will never extinguish your fire for learning (Jupiter trine Neptune; Mercury square Jupiter). And yet, those great expansive, ambitious qualities can also be a sticking point for you. You want to set the world on fire with your visions and yet, you feel, you aren't the one for the job. You never feel knowledgeable enough about anything to confidently want to put yourself forward as a leader (Mercury square Jupiter). You are so ambitious and enthusiastic and generous that you can find yourself over-promising and then being unable to deliver (Jupiter square AC; Jupiter conjunct MC). You expect too much from yourself and are prone to giving up, to allowing the fires within you to dwindle to ash if you don't see instant, immediate change from your actions (Jupiter square Uranus). You haven't learned the skills to build and sustain your Fire.

Imagine, for a moment, that you were born in a different, more mystical time. You took your first breath and perhaps a spiritual leader scooped you up and took you outside to present you to the Universe, to the stars, to the Elements. Imagine, for a moment, that baby being lifted reverently up towards the heavens and imagine those heavens responding by pouring their energies, a unique Gift, onto the head of that precious new infant. Directly overhead, straight up into the air at the moment of your birth, whether it was in a hospital or in a hut, was a constellation of the zodiac, the Midheaven. In your case, it was the constellation of Leo, a fiery, flamboyant lion. Astrologers call this Midheaven the "Crown of Power" and so you can imagine as you were lifted up, whether in dream or in reality, that those stars of Leo sparkled upon your very brow. That Crown of Power is no little thing. It is a gift, unmatched, but it is one that you must accept and choose to place upon your head. It is there, in a box from your birth, and you decide when to take on that power and that corresponding responsibility.

Your Crown in Leo pushes you towards wanting public recognition and acclaim for your work. You want both a protected private life and an accessible, inspirational public life. If you want to access your true potential, you must use the Libra, mental, communicative abilities of your Inner God and your own compelling inner light to demonstrate, unforgettably, the lion-hearted nature of the Divine's Love. You must burn brightly enough to inspire others to discover their own brilliance, their own power, their own light. You will lead, at times, by following and you will receive, at times, through service to others (Leo MC; Sun in Libra; Mercury square MC). And I know you, I know you so well, you don't feel like a leader. You don't trust your own abilities to take on anything so important. You think, there is always someone more qualified, more fiery, more knowledgeable than me. Your Traveling Soul is wounded from past lives with plaguing self-doubt. You feel not only unable but also unlovable. You get in the way of yourself accepting that Crown. You wait for the right person to step forward and take it. But you know what? It wasn't made for anyone else and there was no mistake in that gift. It is yours and the longer you spend hiding out and feeling less-than, the more of this life you are wasting (Sun square MC; Chiron square MC). Here's the kick-in-the-pants you need--everyone has their own Crown, their own abilities, their own place to stand and work to do. They won't do your work or wear your Crown just because you think they'd be better suited for it. The truth is, Rachel, if you don't do it...nobody will do it.

EARTH, I AM

Earth is represented in your natal chart by the Moon and Saturn within earth signs. Two additional planets are operating in earthy areas of your life, and a lot of wounds and needs relevant to your Traveling Soul's work here on Earth are also in, well, earth! Let's dig into it!

You are intensely possessive of your material resources. Nothing makes you pricklier than seeing someone take more than half of the cookie you're sharing (Scorpio on 2nd). It isn't that you're not generous, it is just that your sense of well-being is tied directly to feeling like your needs are met and that you aren't being unfairly treated (Scorpio on 2nd). You are also oversensitive to any attacks (or perceived attacks) on your self-worth. It's what happens when an intense, emotional animal with a quick-draw barb is put in charge of your finances! It isn't all bad news, though. You're astoundingly resourceful and creative at making money or meeting your needs. You turn trash into treasures, find ways of doing without, and break traditional conventions to explore the question of--how do I get what I need, physically, in life? Chances are good your answer won't include traditional employment, or if it does, it'll be in a form where you are your own boss (Neptune in 2nd; Neptune in Sagittarius; Aries on 6th).

In your life's work, whatever work you happen to do, you uphold an impossible standard of excellence (Saturn in Virgo). You think, wrongly, that if you can't do something perfectly, why do it at all? And that's dumb. It is a given that you will never achieve the perfection you're aiming for in the things you do. Let's get over that disappointing reality. The question now is whether you can develop compassion and tolerance for your own flawed efforts as you have for other people? Can you still value your contributions to society as they are? This inner Virgo does have one great thing going for her--it is pretty damned spectacular what she can achieve with a checklist and a sense of purpose (Saturn in Virgo; Saturn in 11th).

Chiron, a planetoid marking a significant psychic wound you hold, was in Taurus at your birth. On charts it is frequently drawn as a key and is a key to healing transformation. For you, it means that you will heal that wound of self-doubt through experiences with Earth. You'll discover the stability of being loved in this life and once you see the physical impact, the difference you can make with your own, small two hands, you'll start to learn to believe in your own power. Devoting your energies to compassionate service and communal effort, you'll finally find the worth of your Soul expressed through your extraordinary, beautiful, flawed, and changing human body (Chiron in Taurus; Chiron in 7th; N. Node in Virgo; N. Node in 11th).

AIR, I AM

When you took your first breath in life, the Sun and Pluto were influencing the qualities of that Air. On the eastern horizon, rising into view was an Air-affiliated constellation as well, establishing your public persona as a being of Air.

Communication and clear thought are incredibly important to who you are. You love to learn, to speak, and to teach anything that you find mentally stimulating (Sagittarius on 3rd). You are your Inner God, ruling a domain of serene introspection and gracious communication (Sun in Libra). You yearn for the feeling of validation and partnership that finding, and talking everything over with, your soul-family would bring you (Moon in 7th). With as much of a loner as you are, the need to communicate and learn from and balance with others trumps all. You will go out and find the friends, the partners, that meet your needs while still respecting your independent streak (Aries on 7th; Uranus semisextile Pluto). Your ideal partner in life is self-assured, calm in a crisis, independent, brave, hard-working and, most of all, reliable. Once the two of you combine resources, and most importantly, minds...you'll be on a roll, unstoppable, and the best possible example of "greater than the sum of their parts". Wowza!

You are part of a generation of witches that will be transformed through revolutionary thoughts about equality (Pluto in Libra). More importantly for you, though, you will be personally transformed as a result of your powerfully insightful spiritual explorations. You need to harness that sensitivity and awareness of the Divine or you'll be prone to feeling overwhelmed and hurt by every little thing. Your mental abilities and constant thinking will lead, perhaps surprisingly, to a unrecognizably different life from that of your childhood where your every thought and action is spiritually-motivated (Pluto in 12th). Don't forget to pull yourself out of this vibrant inner world of the mystic, once in awhile, to be present, participating, and involved in the outer reflection of your inner self (Sun in 12th)!

The constellation of stars rising into view on the horizon at the moment of your birth is the Ascending, or Rising Sign. This is the public persona, the face through which the public interacts with you. For most people, this face is different from that of their own Sun sign. It isn't who they are, only who outside observers think that they are. In your case, though, your public persona as a Libra Rising is perfectly in sync with your reality of being a Libra Sun. What you see is what you get. You really are the person that you appear to be to outside observers (Libra Sun; Libra AC)

WATER, I AM

Water is represented in your natal chart by Mercury, Venus, Mars, and Uranus all appearing in your 1st House, Scorpio. You have so many Scorpio tendencies planted in your self-identity that probably everybody around you can tell. It's the deep, dark, still waters of Death and Rebirth that pours through your heart and influences how you see and perceive and understand the world around you. All that Scorpio emotion is forbidding, intimidating, because your x-ray vision allows you to see, to feel, the truth in everything. Bullshit doesn't get past you (Mercury in Scorpio). You're beautiful, optimistic, unique, intellectual and charismatically magnetic (Mercury, Venus, and Uranus in 1st) and yet you also are unsettlingly impulsive, intense, and socially different. You stand back and observe people like an alien with a magnifying glass and a detached interest and, if they have anything they want to hide, they'll feel about as comfortable as if you could see right through to their polka-dotted boxer shorts (Mars in 1st; Venus in Scorpio; Venus Retrograde; Mercury in Scorpio). And yeah, you do actually have the super-power of seeing their flaws and their lies and their self-deceptions but that isn't what you're looking for or interested in. You have the ability to see, to perceive, to feel your way right past the body, the lifespan, the superficials to the very Light of their Traveling Soul. You probably don't know what color their eyes are or are able to recall, exactly, what their voice sounds like but once you meet someone you never forget the energy, the potential, the sheer beauty of their Soul. Through Water, through your own intuitive powers, you know what others are capable of before even they do. You see them, core deep, and it is that level--the intense level of transformation and the soul--that your emotional self operates at (Libra on 12th; Mercury in Scorpio). No wonder people either love you or fear you or both!

Your Tarot Card Essence:
Your chart, taken as a mathematical whole, is powered primarily by Fixed Water (Scorpio), Fixed Earth (Taurus), and Fixed Air (Aquarius) energies. Within the story of the Tarot, these energies are represented by three cards: Death, The Hierophant, and The Star. These cards are your birthright as a witch and studying their messages, you'll have a better understanding of your greatest strengths and the unique set of Gifts that the Universe bestowed upon you at birth.

In contrast, your chart has a relative weakness in Mutable Fire (Sagittarius), Cardinal Fire (Aries), Mutable Earth (Virgo), and Mutable Air (Gemini) energies. These are represented within the Tarot as The Chariot, The Fool, The Hermit, and The Lovers. The growth we undergo as Traveling Souls lies in change, change from what we began with into something new, and by studying what you're weakest in, by considering and working with the messages and wisdom of these weakness cards within your lifespan, you will change and grow and evolve into something more than you were born with, but what you were ultimately born to become.

Magickal Abilities and Crystal Allies:
Your chart reveals a couple innate magickal abilities that you have as a witch. While you may hone your practical abilities in other areas, these are what you were born to do as well as some discussion of crystal allies that can aid you in your witchy work.

1) Kinesthetic Intuition
Trust the information and vibe you get off of material objects and environments. You will make snap judgments about what you buy (or don't buy) entirely based on how it feels to you (Moon in Taurus; Pallas Athene in 2nd) and as long as you listen to that intuition, you'll always make a good choice. You don't need me to tell you what crystals would be useful allies, frankly, because you know it the second you pick them up or even see a photograph of them. *shrugs* You're on your own with that part of this report.

2) Soul Seer
Is Soul Seeing a magickal ability? I don't know, but in your case, it is. Most people aren't even aware of their Traveling Soul as something separate from their thoughts, their emotions, their personalities--heck, their bodies! You not only are on a first-name basis with your own, but you're also wondering why you're the only one who seems to see everyone else's glowing right through their skin. I talked about this in more depth and with cited astrological references to your natal chart up in the Water section. I suggest you read it again. This isn't some fluke--it is a magickal gift and you, as a Witch, seem to be obligated to do something about it. Not everybody will live up to the potential and greatness of their immortal selves, so the use of black tourmaline, hematite, or clustered quartz to protect yourself from stray negativity may be a good backup plan.

Life Themes:
So, in a lot of reports, this is where I just go back and beat the proverbial dead horse by telling you, in no uncertain terms, what I said in longhand above. In your case, there are a few additional things about yourself and the overall theme of this particular life's growth, that it might be useful to know. So heads up! Here's what you're in for:

Self Discovery Through Relationships
This life, you're actively sowing seeds to be harvested in some future life. You're figuring out, with an intense and single-minded seriousness of purpose, just who you are and what you have to offer (Eastern Hemisphere Chart Signature; 1st House Weighted). This life, little Libran, you will know precisely how others feel and that will challenge you to engage, to team up, and to push out of your daydreamy loner comfort zone into the world of community service and group identity. What you've learned alone is what the small and large communities you belong to need to thrive and what these groups have to offer you is *precisely* what you need to heal that gaping wound of self-doubt. Once you see what you can do when you step up and serve the collective, you won't be feeling so puny anymore. And guess what? Part of service is sometimes taking the role of the leader, even if you feel grossly underqualified. You don't know everything. You are, in fact, the witch for the job.

Learning When to Retreat and When to Bravely Jump In!
Let's go back to that "Create Your Character" screen. We know you picked a pretty well-balanced set of attributes for your Elemental skill allocation. You're sorta mediocre good at a lot of things because of it, but you know there is another category of skill points that you didn't distribute quite so evenhandedly. Each person is made up of their Elements but also a mixture of three types of Energy usage. Let's use a sort of medieval battle analogy. At the time of your birth, your 12 planetary skill points were distributed between Cardinal (Initiating), Fixed (Fixed), and Mutable (Changing) energies. It looks like this:

Cardinal Energy- 3 points
Fixed Energy- 7 points
Mutable Energy- 2 points

In battle, the character with cardinal energy is the brave, self-starting one who picks up a sword and runs screaming at the front of the line into battle. (That ain't you). The character with a lot of fixed energy is the dependable person in the middle who holds the line. You've got a pike or an axe or hell, a pitchfork and only death will get you to cede that bit of ground you're standing on even if it is stupid and worthless and no longer worth defending. (Yeah, that's *so* you.) The person with lots of mutable energy is the brains of the operation who looks at the battlefield as it changes and knows, precisely, the moment that a retreat should be called and a new plan devised. They might even defect to the side they can see is going to win! Either way, smart retreat isn't your gig, either. This life, whether you want to or not, you're going to have to learn to be a little smarter about what you so fiercely defend. Are you being dependable or are you just being stubborn? With so much Fixed energy, chances are excellent that you're being unnecessarily bull-headed about things. Try out a different strategy. Why not be the glorious figure leading the charge or the adaptable genius that explores the changing state of your needs? It's worth a try.

Your Soul is Here to Teach...and to Learn
Your Traveling Soul was hired, in a manner of speaking, to teach those around you about the peace and growth possible when one carefully, respectfully, objectively balances their own needs with the needs of others (Prenatal solar eclipse in Libra). What you need to learn, in addition to some of the lessons we've already discussed, is how to deal with your own extreme sensitivities. It is easy enough to escape the world's harshness through isolation and the escapism of books and movies and daydreamed alternatives to reality, but this life gives you the opportunity to use your sensitivity for great things and to develop the healthy boundaries and strong sense of self necessary to deal with negativity in a more detached, self-assured way (Prenatal lunar eclipse in Pisces).

Trust yourself more. You're an extraordinary individual.

Blessed, Blessed, Blessed Be!
