This weekend was another nice one. The weather was mild enough that we made a return trip to the Morton Arboretum for some hiking and peanut butter sandwiches. Graeme was fixated on kissing both of us repeatedly, kissing trees, blowing kisses to passersby, and basically just being a kissing fool. :) It was sweet, really. I collected a few acorn caps that I'd love to turn into little jaunty hats for something. :) While Graeme was enjoying a second car nap later in the evening, Daniel dropped me off at our local Village Outlet thrift where I picked up an entire bag of toy figures and board books for Graeme to enjoy for a very low amount.

Yesterday, we drove out to see the forest preserves in the surburbs around Tinley Park. We found a big, beautiful Goodwill thrift store. I spent about $30 and got Graeme a scaled down desk and chair (so cute to see him sitting and reading at it!), some Yule decorations, a bunch of nice toys and even more books. I looked at my receipt this morning and can't figure out how it could possibly cover everything I bought. It seems like my cashier gave me many price breaks and sale prices and, in some instances, didn't seem to charge me for items at all. There is just no way to compare this receipt to what I bought. It might be another person's order entirely. Weird.

We made pasta, watched movies and caught up on television shows we love together. It was, all in all, a perfect weekend. I mean, come on, thrifting? Hiking? TV dinners? Awesome. :)
