Thrift Find: Cuisinart SmartPower Premier Blender
Found At: Goodwill: Jupiter, Florida
Price Paid: $12.98
Why I'm So Excited: I needed a blender. I saw this one at Goodwill, all taped together and impossible to test, and took a chance. Three people actually picked it out of my cart as I was pushing it to the register, trying to buy it themselves. (Craziness! Vultures, all!) I have the same blender at home in Chicago, a wedding gift. I got home and did some googling and discovered it was a $100 blender and, with some cleaning, worked awesomely. Hello, bean dip! Hello, pureed soups! Hello, fruit smoothies! :D :D :D



Thrift Find: April Cornell Tea-For-One Set
Found At: Goodwill: Evans, Georgia
Price Paid: $2?
Why I'm So Excited: I've always wanted a tea-for-one set. This one stacks so neatly--saucer, mug, teapot, lid. It had the stickers still on it--unused--and is a glorious shade of blue with an embossed songbird design on the teapot. And it was crazy cheap. So I can enjoy the ritual of tea, all out, and foo-foo and girly. :D



Thrift Find: 20 piece Mikasa French Countryside Dishes
Found At: Goodwill: North Palm Beach, Florida
Price Paid: $25.00
Why I'm So Excited: This wasn't very cheap, in terms of thrift-store dishware, but the set was exactly what we needed to give us everyday dishes her at the winter house and the design is simple, elegant, and timeless. They're also just girly enough that I feel I'm getting away with something with Daniel. ;D

We are! Daniel cuddled up with a trash can for the night (eww) and the next morning took a shower, put on a suit, and went to work. He's a trooper. Today he's back in Chicago (until Friday) feeling good and Graeme is back to his non-cranky self, so I think that means we're all (finally!) feeling good. :)

Graeme and I were at Busch Wildlife Center this morning and he was navigating the place himself, with the map. (It had pictures of animals instead of words, which helped). So cute! :)

Also, 2010 must have the hidden meaning of "steal from my cart." A friend at IKEA was trapped inside when someone tried to steal from the store. The doors automatically close and lock when that happens, and while she was trying to move away from the panicked mob, someone took stuff out of her cart WHILE SHE STOOD NEXT TO THE SAME ITEMS THEY JUST STOLE FROM HER. It's like, um, take from the shelf? o_O

Other than that I hope 2010 is starting to really pick up for you and your family! <3

I've been getting my Temple Room almost complete! This past weekend, we finally got around to painting it...I can't wait to finish the consecration (this has been an open ended consecration for over six months now!!! XD). Also, I'm desperately in love with this month's Farther Shore work~

I have!!!!! I'm so incredibly excited about it, I can't even sit still. XDDDDDDDDD I'm waiting to read through them when I have an evening to myself, and I have them all printed out and sitting in their nice new binder. Oh, Rachel, this is going to be such an incredible year. ;-; *LOVE*
