Tippy-tapped update from me and my phone at the airport. My weekend at Diana's Grove was transformative, restorative, beautiful, and fun. The trip home met some hiccups as my flight last evening out of St. Louis was cancelled and I was left to get a hotel after many hours at the airport. Five hours sleep and I'm back and trying to get home again. This morning I am supposed to check into the hospital at 10am and have the first procedure, a radiology guided percutaneous neprostomy, at 11am. I am working hard to keep the anxiety at bay. I love this term I heard at the Grove this weekend--"growing edge". This is definitely a growing edge for me. I hope you will keep me in your thoughts. I sure need calm thoughts and still moments bravery to face this.

Love!

Rachel

'Growing edge'! I like it. I always think of the snail conquering the razor blade - it can crawl over it without harming itself, but I'm sure it still feels the edge as it progresses past it!!

Good luck with your surgery, I will be keeping you in my thoughts. :)

RACH! It *will* be fine, totally. Just sleep your way through it, be cranky and sore when it's over, pinch your nurses' butts, and come home. I 100% believe that when it's all over you'll think, "That wasn't so bad." Just remind yourself. OR if I'm talking about of my butt (like I usually am!) you can think, "That sucked, Rhiannon was wrong, as usual, but I made it through and it's one more thing in life I triumphed over." I will be thinking of you every minute! ♥ I love you!

In my opinion, the best part of being sick is getting to eat what you want and watch what you want on TV without feeling the slightest bit guilty. Indulge away and get well soon :) See you in September!

I think you are going to get to the other side of this and feel much better physically and emotionally. All this stressing out over going to the hospital (which is completely natural, even for those w/o a medical phobia) will melt away when you get home and are feeling yourself again. {{{{HUGS}}}}
