This weekend was a fantastic one for the Pajama Program Drive. I sold $35.00 worth of tickets to my BPAL Raffle (drawing in an hour and a half!). That'll buy us about 7 or 8 more pajamas. I can't wait to get my little hands on those to show them off and add to the pile a'piling beside our Yule tree. :) I also was able to buy and donate 11 children's books with a Barnes and Noble gift card from my birthday that I unearthed from its hiding place in my craft supplies. :D

More exciting, perhaps, than all of that combined was getting a box from [livejournal.com profile] aerialmelodies. She surprised me with a huge donation--six pajamas and nine books--in exchange for some BPAL perfume. It made for an amazing, jump-up-and-down mail day. :) Everything she sent was crazy-cute but these two girl's pajama tops were the first thing I saw and really capture the awesomesauce of the whole package:

Oh, the happiness of knowing some little girls are going to get those PJs and be so proud to wear them. :)

Every day I'm continually blown away at how generous and wonderful people are. Gah. :) My heart!

I KNOW. I found the top but someone had removed the bottoms, so I was super sad. I grabbed it anyway in the hopes they were simply misplaced. Sure enough, they were sitting on top of one of the displays, perhaps knocked off and just waiting to be reunited. Together at last, they will make some little girl happy to be a princess! :D

I should take more photos. The bottoms with all the princesses in pointy-hats made me giggle. So, so cute! :D

(I totally wish they made my size. ;) )

Hee! I agree. I was stoked to find it too. You can't sell PJs without having at least ONE set that has unicorns on it, hello! XD

Oh wow, nine books? I completely miscounted. Clearly I need to borrow Graeme's Speak n' Math... XD

I'm so glad the box arrived safely! I tried to find a good mix of sizes and patterns and colors. You know, just in case some child reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally loves pink or race cars or polka dots. :)

PS: You can ignore the hangers... I thought I'd pack them as well just in case, but then one didn't fit and I was already too packed in to go back. So... there's three in there. If you need them. Maybe for Graeme? Those two double coupons should be floating around the box as well - if you don't see them, maybe a certain pajama ate them... XD

You made me doubt my counting abilities. I went to recheck and yes, nine. :D

All pajamas are cute and all clothes in children's sizes are cute but the ones you picked are ridiculously cute. I think every last one of those will be someone's favorite thing in the world. :D You hit all the childhood highlights: polka dots, animals, princesses, hearts, rocket ships. I mean, really, how freakin' adorable! :D

I'm not sure what to do with the hangers, either. I'll have to call the chapter president down in Florida and see how she stores PJs. If she hangs stuff, I'll be bringing her a lot of little plastic hangers. :)

And yes, I got the coupons, too! I have an in with the local Carter's and am going to get phoned when they have new pajamas put on clearance. So come January, I'll be in there for another haul. The other I think I'll use at one of the big outlet malls in Florida. :)

Yay! I think after I seal up boxes that maybe I should put things in envelopes and not loosely floating around. Packing is not my forte unless it's for vacation, ha. :)

If they need more hangers, I still have the other three that didn't fit! I could always ship them down. That is, I have them unless Ryan the neat freak got to them first... XD

Oh, Old Navy is selling pajama bottoms for $7. Which I know you need sets, but they're the warm bottoms and I thought perhaps you could get some plain tees to go along with the bottoms? For the teen set, that is. I never realized how difficult it is to find affordable teen SETS for pajamas. I found plenty of bottoms. Guess they figure by that age, you're wearing your dad's old work t-shirts (I know I did, ha). Anyway, just a heads up! I'll hunt around for online coupons too that you could print and use. :)
