Fairie Festival: More Costume Previews

After an evening of trying on all the likely candidates (hauled home from Chicago by my very helpful hubby), I've got two more theme-y celebratory get-ups ready for Fairie Festival. If you'll recall, my first outfit was a few posts back and looks something like this:

Let me tell you, taking photos of oneself with bad lighting and only a half-length mirror is downright impossible. :D So they're not the best, but that's what I've got. :)



Another one I came up with is thanks (almost) entirely to my collection of hand-dyed ritual wear from Diana's Grove visits. It is here:

And finally, a nod to my service of the Underworld. :) Black velvet dress, black wings from lilith42, and layers of white and black petticoats and crinolines. :D

So there you have it! My three costumes for $3. :D I may spring for some hair dye and makeup, but otherwise I'm good to go. I've got everything hung up with jewelry and everything, just waiting to pack next week. :D :D :D :D Eeeeeeeee!

Here's my secret--I dye my hair pretty often. I use the temporary colors and stick to the redhead spectrum, but sometimes I go more plum and sometimes I go more cinnamon. :) I've gotten pretty sunburned lately, so dying my hair darker will make me look less pink. :D

oh didn't know that! Did you know you can tone down the pink by wearing medium to dark blues? That's what richard does when he's crispy and he has to take pictures.

Thank you!! :D I'm really happy with them. They are super comfy, too. I was looking at the weather forecast, though, and it may be cool enough for me to wish to wear the black outfit all three days. ;) If there is a chance of rain, do I bring ponchos or an umbrella or what? What sort of game plan should I have? If I need to revise my costume during the day, do we have access to your car once we've parked it? I'm working in layers so I can add on or shed as needed. :)

I like! Especially the petticoats~ Planning the outfits is so much fun, especially when you dig in your own closet and find all the pieces. I need to start rooting around myself!

Did you need or want to borrow a corset? I believe the one that I'm not going to wear is a 26" waist (if tied all the way shut). It's the white with gold pattern or it could be flipped around to a light pink and gold pattern. Oh, it's also the, er, under boobs one. I don't know names very well, lol! Let me know! It's easy to pack if it fits in with anything you already have. :D

Thank you! Growing up, I always felt like Anne of Green Gables, wishing someone would say my hair was auburn. Now I'm very, very pleased to have it. :D

I can't wait to wear these out and about. I have spent way too much time lately in haggard mom sweatpants mode. ;)
