So many things to comment on! I see you are slowly and steadily making your way through Season 3. I just this Sunday watched the first season of Downton, and am in love. I need to start on the second season soon. I may, very we'll, need to watch The Help because of that review now, too. (Advice: book or movie first, then?)

My advice is to watch The Help first. You'll love the movie, I imagine, and then you can enjoy digging deeper with the book.

But I wanted to ask you. I'm reading Harry Potter, at last, and wasn't sure what would be best. Should I read all the books and then watch the films? Read a book, watch that film, read next book, watch next film, etc? Thoughts? Daniel couldn't tell me as he read three books and then watched three movies years and years later.

Downton Abbey is brutal to watch sometimes, so much prolonged angst, but I love it, too. I seem to love every historical anything put on by PBS or BBC.

I just finished Downton Abbey season 1 and am really looking forward to the next 2 seasons. Are they on DVD yet or can they be found streaming somewhere?

The Help is amazing and I loved watching the movie. I would rank it high on my list but the best movie I've ever seen is Whalerider or Winged Migration.
