Graeme was working on some sun-inspired paintings for Yule. I had to cut our conversation off short, as the video was getting too long for Flickr, but I wanted everyone to be able to see him in his natural environs--elbow-deep in paint. :)

Seriously. I was thinking about that the other day. I left Publix eight years ago. I moved up here six years ago. It's unbelievable how fast life goes.

I have no idea. I love this age, so much, because he's so communicative and yet completely unjaded. The whole world's a jewel to him and I get to share in that viewpoint. It's amazing. I can see why people go through all the trials of raising young children over and over again. It's impossibly hard and yet, here he is in this window of wonder.

You were right - because I am - well, me - and am oftentimes super clueless :-P - I didn't even notice it was a video I just thought it was a photo.
I have watched it now and am even more in love.

When I heard you saying "You ARE an artist to him" my heart and eyes got full. How I wish more parents were like that... I could FEEL your words (and your acceptance and love of him) going straight like an arrow deep into his soul. Children that age take things in - so deep.

Thank you! I sure hope not. Daniel and I do our best, every day, to give him everything he needs. Some part of us fears it is too good to last and that we'll need to say everything now, everyday, the now of everyday, just in case we aren't around to say it later.

That sounds grim, but really it just keeps us present. :)

He is. I really don't even need to put a drop cloth down. He has always been pretty meticulous. I'm not so sure he *wasn't* an artist in another life.

Hopefully when he gets older, he won't have these homemade haircuts. ;) But thank you! I am not good at seeing him as an adult, but it is so obvious when I look at his newborn photos that of course he was going to look exactly like this. (Even though I thought all babies looked the same. ;) )

2nd tri is already much better than 1st. Not 100%, but I don't *need* the Zofran to get through my day anymore.
