Whatcha having for Thankgiving? I was inspired by a trip to a different grocery store than I usually shop at and their very well-stocked produce department. We're having:

*Gardein Santa Fe Good Stuffs--a marinated meat-free chicken-like protein stuffed with black beans and corn

*fingerling potatoes in like four or five different colors

*Road's End Organics Savory Herb Vegan Gravy

*cranberry sauce (the real kind, made from organic cranberries)

*steamed baby yellow and green summer squash

*sweet peas

*spring mix salad with candied walnuts and dried cranberries

and, for dessert,

* Talenti Sorbetto's "Hill Country Peach Champagne" and "Roman Raspberry" gelati topped with fresh raspberries.

Here it was! :D

Vegan Thanksgiving

We found an awesome thing at the store--a bread-basket filled with bread rolls! Mmm. So that, along with all our autumn dishware, leaf-shaped placemats, and porcelain pumpkins (along with some hand-made gratitude mobiles from Mabon) made for a very festive spread. :)

So, we thought we'd arrive around four. Do you have enough extra chairs? XDDDDDDDDDDD

I think I just died and went to daydreaming vegan food porn heaven. Oh gods. ;-; *LOVE* That is SOME menu, darlin'!!!

Ours is Tofurkey and stuffing, cranberry dumplings, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie (my mum said she found a recipe on the interwebs, and hasn't shown it to me yet. XDDDD), apple crisp and lots of veggies. Jenn's family visit will be vegan ribs, mashed potatoes, tons of vegetables and fresh fruit! :D

Ha! Our home is always open to you. Come on over! :D I must say, though, it doesn't sound like you'll be starving. ;) No sad thanksgiving salads and dry bread rolls for you! ;p

Please tell me, what are cranberry dumplings? Anything cranberry sings my name. :)

The cranberry dumplings come in the "kit" that comes with the big Tofurkey when you buy it--my Mum always gets the big one. They are seriously the best part of the feast...SO. RIDICULOUSLY. GOOD. OHMYGODS. You'd LOVE them!!!

Oh! I've never bought the Tofurkey. I'll have to survive without. :D

Someday you should try it! I know lots of people have mixed reviews, but it's so, so good...I, personally, love it. :)

Sounds yummy, especially the salad; I'm a sucker for anything with candied nuts and dried cranberries in it. I always make my green beans with dried cranberries steamed right in with the beans and then topped off with toasted sliced almonds. I hope your Thanksgiving is plentiful in food for your body and food for your soul. ♥

Quorn Turk'y Roast, mashed potatoes, stuffing (the Pepperidge Farm easy-peasy stuff), gravy, roasted sweet potatoes, corn, peas, broccoli-cheese--fried onion-brown rice "stuff", yeast rolls, pumpkin pie, cranberry sauce (the can-shaped stuff). Erm, I think that's it? I'm so ready. SO READY.

Yours sounds totally good! I love fingerling potatoes and tiny squash. I tend to gravitate toward baby veggies.

We're going to a potluck thing. My family is taking:
Pumpkin Baked Ziti with Carmelized Onions and Sage Breadcrumb Topping
Homemade Cranberry-Pear Sauce
Beet and Arugula Salad with Satsuma Mandarins and Candied Pecans
Pumpkin Oat Cookies
(and also a bowl of mashed sweet potatos with EB and cinnamon sugar so that I know that there is something that my 4 year old will eat)

Yum! My Thanksgiving was along the lines of the joke: "What do you call a vegetarian on Thanksgiving? Hungry."
I'm thinking about picking up a Tofurky this weekend, though.
